We offer a Mixed Age Kindergarten for children 3 1/2 to 6 years old. In addition, we soon will offer again a Parent- Child Class for children 18 months to 3 years old and plan on starting a pre-K Program for children 2 to 3 1/2 years old. We are also exploring the possibility of starting a Waldorf grades program in 2010.
Parent-Child Class
Our parent-child class is a way for parents and their young children (ages 18 months to 3 years old) to come together once a week with other moms and dads and children to play, share stories and parenting challenges, work on simple crafts and get some social time. This is a great way to interact with other parents, learn some parenting skills, and get out of the house!
Pre-K Program (Little Stars)
Our pre-K program will be designed as an environment where the young child is surrounded by warmth, tenderness and love. The rhythmical order of daily, weekly and seasonal activities will give children a sense of security. The children’s need for both movement and rest will determine the arrangement of events and activities. We will offer a 2-day program at first and will consider adding 3- and 5-day programs in the future.
Mixed Age Kindergarten (Shining Stars)
Our kindergarten is designed to nurture creativity and imagination in our children. We believe that creative and abstract thinking as well as soft skills – such as teamwork, decision-making and communication - are born of the childhood experience of unstructured, imaginative play. There are many years to be a serious student, and few in which one can truly play. The protection of childhood is one of our main values. Our kindergarten class has a maximum of 15 children with a full-time teacher and full-time assistant. We offer a 3-day and a 5-day program. Program hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aftercare will be arranged as needed.
